Work Process

How We Work

When a neighbor is facing eviction or utility shutoff, we visit them face to face in their
home. Two visitors go together to listen to their story and to understand ways we might
be able to help them. A visit is important to establish a relationship based on trust and
friendship, to ascertain needs, to introduce spiritual component and to empower the
neighbor.

01

Initial Contact

Our neighbors call our intake specialists, who collect their vital information and learn about their needs. A case is created for each neighbor.

02

The Home Visit

Our visitors will schedule a time to see our neighbor in their home. We will ask about their situation, learn the details of the need, and provide contact information for other resources in the area.

03

Financial Support / References

The local conference meets to discuss the needs of our neighbors. In situations where we can help, monetary assistance is provided directly to the landlord / utility. In cases where we cannot provide financial support, our neighbors are provided references to other support and services.
